We are now able to provide more comfortable injections using a new piece of equipment called "The Wand". The Wand does not look like a syringe and does not feel like one. It uses a computer to deliver painless dental anaesthesia by calculating the precise pressure and volume ratios of anaesthetic. The cost is £10 per visit so why not ask your dentist when you next need an injection.
The practice is also now offering "Valplast" dentures. "Valplast" partial dentures are made from an unbreakable and flexible material which is lightweight and practically invisible. There is no need for any metal clasps or framework as the strong and durable plastic denture snaps securely and comfortably into place around your natural teeth.
Fissure Sealants are tough resin coatings which are applied to the chewing surfaces of molar and pre-molar teeth. These teeth are covered with small pits and fissures which are very difficult to keep clean and the collection of food particles and bacteria can lead to decay.
The teeth are cleaned and prepared before the sealant is placed on the tooth. This sets very quickly and forms a protective smooth layer over the tooth which is much easier to keep clean. The teeth should be sealed as soon as each one is fully erupted which is between 6 and 11 years of age.
The treatment is painless and normal chewing is not affected. Ask your dentist for further details.
